Values

Mutual Respect
Kindness, consideration and respect.

Malicious and degrading conduct will not be tolerated! We will have differences, in how we start plant starts and live our lives, and these are opportunities to learn about something new, exciting, and potentially helpful for our garden. Also, we are all in this group for the things that bring us together, a love of growing and being in community.

We follow the Oops and Ouch process

Inclusion
There are about a million different ways to garden and twice as many ways for a person to live their life, and the TVCGCoop welcomes them all. From retired elders to communities of color, from transgender high schoolers to people who like to conserve and prepare, from fairly new arrivals to the differently abled, veterans who have lived their lives in Idaho.

Independence
We do not tell people how to run their gardens. Unless, of course, you ask us for advice, and even then, you can disregard it without worry. Everyone has a past that has lead them to a certain present and we are respectful of that and allow each other to make their own's choices and are excited to see how we grow together in the future.

Power-to VS Power-over
We recognize that histories of oppression, designed to benefit white communities continue to create a scale of inequity. Working to address that wherever we can, we are in an active, conscious development process on the administrative level of this org, working towards lasting intersectional community building. We want to help people learn the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to be independently successful in creating the Community Garden of their dreams.
